BYD achieves record ebus orders from the Americas

China / Colombia / USA – Shenzhen-based electric bus manufacturer, BYD Company is celebrating two record orders from the American continent. The first is for 130 buses from North America's Los Angeles Department of Transport and the second is for 379 units from South America's TransMilenio SA, the public transport authority in Bogota, Colombia.

The Colombian buses are to enter the SITP integrated transport service in September 2020 and the first towns to receive deliveries will be Usme and Fontibon. BYD calculates the CO2 emission savings from these buses will amount to 21,900 tons in their first year of operation and will reduce running costs by 60%.
