Germany – Kassel-based Hübner GmbH & Co. KG (Hübner Group)presented a newly developed electronic steering system for city buses at Busworld of more than 30 metres in length, which, it said, should be implemented by bus manufacturers, in practice, starting next year.

Working with a long-term development partner, the Fraunhofer Institute IVI Dresden, Hübner has realised a test station for such systems that can simulate driving and check the function of steering and axles. The company sees future requirement for current articulated and bi-articulated buses to be extended beyond the current 24-27m implementations in order to address increasing passenger capacity requirements.
