USA - Specialty truck builder, Mack Trucks, headquartered in Greenboro, North Carolina (part of the Volvo Group) when announcing last month its entry into the medium-duty truck segment with the new MD Series – see article in this issue – has announced a USD13m investment in a new assembly facility in its Roanoke Valley Operations, Virginia specifically dedicated to assemble the new model range.

The investment is being used for equipment, tooling and building enhancements at the 280,000 square feet facility dedicated to the assembly of Mack medium-duty vehicles. The new facility, which is to come on stream in terms of series production in July 2020, is to result in the creation of 250 new jobs.
