Meritor completes purchase of Transpower

USA – January 2020 saw Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan strengthen its electric drivetrain capabilities with its acquisition of all the remaining shares in Transportation Power Inc - since 2010 a supplier of integrated drive systems, full electric truck solutions and energy-storage subsystems based in Escondido, California.

Commenting on this move, Jay Craig, Meritor's CEO and president, said: "We are excited to welcome TransPower to the Meritor family as we continue providing our customers with sophisticated electric drivetrain solutions. This acquisition enables us to further position the company as a premier supplier of electrification technologies for commercial vehicles."
