Peterbilt 579EV enters service with Werner Enterprises

USA - Peterbilt Motors of Denton, Texas (part of Paccar Inc of  Bellevue, Washington, USA)  has supplied Werner Enterprises with a Model 579EV for its battery electric-powered truck pilot programme.

The 579EV utilises a TransPower* Energy Storage Subsystem with a total storage capacity of 352kWh. The drivetrain is a Meritor Blue-Horizon Mid-Ship Motor Drive Subsystem providing up to 430hp and is estimated to have a range of 150 miles on a single charge. Charging time can be as little as one hour when a fast-charging system is used.
