Russian truck market stable but slips 2.3% in 2019

Russia – Truck (>5t gvw) sales in Russia in 2019 totalled 78,807 units, which was 3.3% fewer than the 80,702 trucks registered in 2018, according to figures produced by Avtostat Info.

The sales of Russian truck brands increased by 5.4% to 48,850 units and while the sales of foreign models decreased 10.6% to 34,957 units. All three Russian manufacturers of medium and heavy-duty trucks, GAZ, KamAZ and URAL, posted growth figures, while MAZ of Minsk, Belarus and all other foreign manufacturers of foreign brands from the top 10 witnessed a fall in sales. DAF reported the smallest decrease of 6.3%, whereas Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Isuzu and MAN posted decreases ranging from 9.3% to 22%.
