DAF Trucks commences field trials with CF Hybrids

The Netherlands - DAF Trucks NV of Eindhoven, has started field testing two CF Hybrid trucks with Dutch transport operator, Peter Appel, used to supply supermarkets in the Netherlands. The CF Hybrid operates as a 100% electric truck in urban areas and uses clean diesel technology when operating out of town. This hybrid capability ensures both the flexibility of use in urban, where increasingly cities are asking for zero emission transport and the flexibility of an long or extended operating range outside the city.

The DAF CF Hybrid innovation trucks are equipped with 10.8 litre Paccar MX-11 diesel Euro VID engines (330kW/450hp), a ZF electric motor (75kW/100hp / peak power: 130kW/175hp) and a special ZF TraXon gearbox for hybrid powertrains.
