USA / Thailand / China - General Motors Company (GMC) of Detroit, Michigan, USA says  it plans to withdraw from several markets in Asia-Pacific and Oceania to focus on its most profitable global markets. It is to wind down sales, engineering and design operations in Australia and New Zealand, which employ 830 people, and ‘retire’ the Holden car brand by 2021.
