Hyliion to supply Penske Truck Leasing with first three hybrid-electric Class 8 tractors

USA – Vehicle conversion engineering specialist, Hyliion Inc of Austin, Texas says it is to deliver three hybrid electric tractor units to Penske Truck Leasing, all incorporating its 6X4HE Class 8 hybrid system, this year.
Thomas Healy, CEO of Hyliion said: "We are excited to deploy our technology with Penske. Our hybrid electric system on their Class 8 sleeper truck will reduce fuel consumption while also improving the driver experience. Our collaboration with Dana provided the opportunity to utilise its strong product development process and affiliation with leading fleets to help foster this co-operative sustainability program for all key stakeholders."
