South Korea / USA - Allison Transmissions Inc of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States has entered a partnership with Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) of Seoul, South Korea to coincide with the launch of the Allison 1000 xFE fully automatic transmission in the 2.5 and 3.5-ton Mighty Light Duty Truck.

Prior to the release of the 1000 xFE, the Mighty was available exclusively with a manual transmission. However, Hyundai recognises a growing interest by Korean and global fleets in two pedal operation, paired with increasing need for ease of operation, better fuel economy, reliability, service availability and productivity. The move extends an existing relationship between the manufacturers as Allison automatic gearboxes are already offered in Hyundai's heavier truck and bus ranges.
