The Netherlands - Deurne-based Knapen Trailers BV (a subsidiary of the Krone Group) has engineered a customer-specific Longer Heaver Vehicle (LHV) combination with moving floor. The Dutch moving floor trailer specialist is convinced LHVs are on the rise in Europe and believes LHVs offer an efficient solution for many transporter operators and for solving several environmental challenges by enabling a higher volume of cargo to be carried in one transport movement. This LHV combination offers the benefits of saving time, cutting costs and reducing CO2 emissions, Knapen states.

The recently delivered LHV was designed in close co-operation with customer ‘Wind Transport’ from Musselkanaal (NL). The combination is used for transport in the Netherlands and in Germany, despite current regulations applicable to LHVs not being completely harmonised in both countries: The combination can operate at 60t in Holland but only at 40t in Germany, Knapen states.
