USA / UK - Ricardo Performance Products (a division of Ricardo Plc of Shoreham Technical Centre, Shoreham-by-Sea, UK) is to support the first phase of commercial industrialisation of the SuperTurbo system – a unique planetary traction drive developed by SuperTurbo Technologies Inc of Loveland, Colorado, USA enabling high speed power transfer to and from a turbocharger shaft, which the partners states offers significant driveability and fuel efficiency benefits for large trucks.

SuperTurbo was formed in 2009 as VanDyne SuperTurbo – a spin-out from Woodward Governor, is based in Loveland, Colorado. The company adopted NASA-developed NuVinci technology from Fallbrook Technologies Inc and has applied the CVP drive system to turbocharging.
