BYD & Toyota form JV

China / Japan - BYD Company Ltd of Shenzhen, China and Toyota Motor Corporation of Tokyo, Japan have formed a new joint venture company, called BYD Toyota EV Technology Co Ltd (BTET), based in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, China, for R&D in battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Hirohisa Kishi from Toyota is to serve as chairman, and Zhao Binggen from BYD has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO).
