Master concludes purchase of Metalúrgica Ferrari

Brazil - Master Sistemas Automotivos Ltda* (Freios Master), a manufacturer of brake systems for trucks, buses and trailers, based in Caxias do Sul (RS) has acquired die casting enterprise, Ferrari Indústria Metalúrgica Ltda. Located in Serra Gaúcha, in the city of Flores da Cunha, it produces cast and forged aluminium components under pressure. The BRA14m (USD2.8m) deal, which was first announced last November, was finalised in February this year.
According to Ricardo Escoboza, director of Master, Metalúrgica Ferrari will supply aluminium components for Master’s internal use as the parent company and for the current customers of Metalúrgica Ferrari; he added that the companies would be exploring potential for growth in manufacturing parts for export.
