Solaris wins orders for 25 fuel cell buses in Germany

Poland / Germany - Solaris Bus & Coach SA of Bolechowo, Poland has received orders for 25 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen-powered buses from the affiliated transport companies of the German  transport association, Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr. This is the second order for the Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen bus, the first being for 12 units to transport firm, SASA Bolzano in Italy last year following its launch in mid-2019 at the Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm for delivery in 2021.

Ten of the 25 commissioned buses are for use by WSW Mobil GmbH in Wuppertal and the remaining 15 are to operate on routes serviced by RVK Köln in nearby Cologne. The first of these vehicles are scheduled for delivery this year and the remainder will follow in 2021. Both cities have already hydrogen fuelling stations:  Linde, is the hydrogen fuel cell manufacturer and H2 Mobility is the operator.
