UK - British semi-trailer and rigid vehicle body builder, Don-Bur (Bodies & Trailers) Ltd of Stoke-on-Trent has, for the first time, manufactured a lifting deck straight-frame tri-axle double deck trailer design with a lifting roof. The design, developed for a large UK parcel operator, provides 7.8% more head room on the lower deck during loading, states Don-Bur.

During loading operations, Don-Bur says, the design allows the secondary deck to be lowered into position to suit the bay height for loading and then raised, via hydraulics, well above the operating roof height of 4.5m to allow more height when loading the lower deck. Once loaded and before transit, the roof and deck lower again to a position where the gap over the lower deck load are minimal.
