Russia – Production capacity of the R6 in-line six-cylinder engine range of JSC Kamaz at its headquarters and main manufacturing base in Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, is to be increased from 12,000 units annually to 30,000, the heavy truck builder has announced.

The R6 six-cylinder in-line engine (R6, R is the name given to its in-line engines and 6 refers to six cylinders) built in Naberezhnye Chelny is the Kamaz-910; this engine was developed as a Euro 5 compliant engine for trucks of the new K5 truck family and was derived from the Liebherr 946 engine, produced since 2012. It has six in-line cylinders with four valves per cylinder, a volume of 1,991 cubic centimetres per cylinder and fuelled with a common-rail fuel system.
