Russian trailer market holds up in first quarter

Russia - Despite March figures, which recorded a fall in the sales of new trailers and semi-trailers of 9.6%, the market for the first quarter this year recorded an overall gain of 8.4%, according to Russian Automotive Market Research.

In January to March, Russia sold 7,110 trailers, up from 8.4% up year-on-year. Schmitz Cargobull remained the market leader with 790 units (1.3% down). The other OEMs top three included Tonar and Nefaz. In addition to Schmitz, a drop in sales was posted by Krone (5.0%) and Kaessbohrer (16.7%). The demand for Koegel trailing equipment remained at the 2019 level.
