Hitachi takes control of ABB Power Grids division with purchase of 80.1% stake

Japan / Switzerland - Hitachi Ltd of Tokyo, Japan, has acquired a controlling stake of 80.1% in the power grids business of ABB Ltd of Zurich, Switzerland. This follows an initial agreement of purchase / sale signed on December 17, 2018.

The new company, Hitachi ABB Power Grids Ltd (Hitachi ABB Power Grids) was launched and began operation on July 1, 2020 from offices in Zurich.
