USALightning Systems of Loveland, Colorado, a producer of electrified vehicle conversions, has added the Ford F-550 to its expanding range of electric commercial vehicle options.

The Lightning Electric Ford F-550 model, which can be ordered today, is to be available in gross vehicle weight ratings from 17,500 to 19,500 pounds (class 5) and offers peak power of 180kW (241hp) and torque of 1,100Nm with a top speed is 65mph. It has an electric range of more than 100 miles – depending on equipment configuration, payload, route, weather, and driver. Full regenerative braking adds range while reducing wear and tear on the friction brakes. A liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery system can accommodate a full charge in as little as within two-and-a-half hours with DC fast charging. It comes with a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty on the powertrain with maintenance performed by certified local service providers. The Electric F-550 includes Lightning’s in-vehicle dash screen display, providing real-time range, diagnostics, and efficiency data. Lightning Analytics, a cloud-based analytics system which provides predictive maintenance, route scoring, range analysis, driver behaviour and geofencing for maximum range and efficiency, is also offered.
