CATL to supply batteries for Trailer Dynamics' Newton eTrailer

Germany / China – Chinese battery producer, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) of Ningde, Fujian Province is to supply batteries for the Newton eTrailer being developed by Trailer Dynamics GmbH of Aachen, Germany.
Trailer Dynamics says it has developed the Newton e-Trailer, an electric drive train that replaces one of the trailer's conventional non-powered axles with an electric axle. In combination with the diesel vehicle, the entire tractor-trailer system is converted into an electric plug-in hybrid. The Newton eTrailer (semi-trailer) is designed to respond to the driving behaviour of its coupled tractor using integrated electric drive trains, which provides (drive traction) support for it through an integrated electric transmission system that manages the electrical energy resources intelligently along the entire route while reducing emissions and running costs.
