Canada / USA – Bus and coach manufacturer, NFI Group Inc of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is introducing an initiative, called NFI Forward which, following the unforeseen and devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry, is designed to transition the business from a holding company to a fully integrated operating entity. The Canadian bus, coach and specialty vehicle builder, explained NFI Forward is aimed at rationalising its business units and facilities, beginning with the immediate combining of transit bus company, New Flyer (New Flyer consists of New Flyer of America Inc and New Flyer Industries Canada ULC) and coach making subsidiary, MCI of ‎‎Des Plaines, Illinois, into a single business unit – although both brands and all models are being retained. The new entity is to be led by New Flyer president, Chris Stoddart.

NFI Forward is expected to generate over USD75m of annualised cost savings by the end of fiscal year 2022
