Japan - Toyota Motor Corporation and Honda R&D Co Ltd are to create a mobile power generation/output system, 'Moving e', consisting of a fuel cell bus which can carry a large amount of hydrogen, portable external power output devices and portable batteries. The purpose is to be able to an emergency supply power source when a power grid is cut during extreme weather such as typhoons and rainstorms. ‘Moving e’, however, is designed to be used as a "phase-free" system, ie for use during emergencies to support disaster response by supplying electricity in an affected area and in normal times for routine use such as supplying power at an event.

The companies plan to begin demonstration testing in late September of the system's ability to deliver emergency electricity supplies, anytime and anywhere, to confirm the actual need and verify usability of the system.
