UK - Mid-August saw the SMMT (The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) post figures for the first half of 2020: New bus and coach registrations fell by more than a third (-34.6%) to 1,731 units from 2,645. If the minibus segment is removed (accounting for 1,149 units, which actually grew by 21.5% from 945), the single deck market bus and coach market segment fell by 67.5% to 383  units (1,178: 1H/19) and double deck bus and coach market fell by 61.7% to 199 (520: 1H/19).

However, the second quarter saw the single deck market near total collapse and the double deck contract by almost two thirds. Single-deck demand plummeted by 93.3% to just 51 units, down from 761 in the same quarter last year. The double deck market fell by 62.7% in Q2/20 to 69 units from 185 units.
