Allison, Cummins, Gillig and now IndyGo partner in development of next-generation electric hybrid powertrain

USAIndyGo, the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation, which has selected the H40EP electric hybrid propulsion solution from Allison Transmission Inc of Indianapolis, Indiana to power 27 new buses is to become a development partner for the remaining three vehicles that are to feature Allison’s new electric hybrid product, eGen Flex – see article in this issue. 

So, 24 of the 27 buses made by Gillig Corporation of Livermore will feature the Allison H40EP units paired with Cummins’ B6.7 engines. The remaining three of IndyGo’s new buses will see  IndyGo, Allison and Cummins work together to integrate Allison’s new electric hybrid propulsion system, eGen Flex.
