Hankook Tire collaborates with SK Planet over Road Risk Detection Technology

South Korea / Germany / Finland - Tyre maker, Hankook Tire of Seongnam-si, Republic of Korea, is working with SK Planet of Seoul, a data and test subsidiary of SK Telecom, to develop smart tyre technology.

The two companies are to work together to develop a platform that can analyse road conditions using deep learning and artificial intelligence (AI) and thereby identify potential risks to road users. Hankook's test sites, G'Track in Geumsan, South Korea and Technotrac, in Ivalo, Finland, will provide the data for the system.
