Sweden - Logistics specialist, Dagab Inköp & Logistik AB of Örebro, Sweden, which handles an assortment of purchasing and logistics for the country's second largest food retail group, Axfood, has announced a close collaboration with Scania AB in its move towards electrification. Scania says in addition to supplying the vehicles it will assist in areas such as fleet planning, assessing suitable routes for electrification and selecting an efficient charging infrastructure.

Initial deliveries of Scania’s new-generation electric and plug-in hybrid trucks to Dagab are to be deployed on suitable routes in the greater Stockholm area. They will be instrumental also in assessing the prerequisites for further expansion of an electrified fleet. Successful operation will require sufficient power supplies at logistics centres, the establishment of efficient charging facilities along distribution routes and adapting the fleet for seasonal variations.
