Strasbourg orders 49 Irizar ie electric buses

Spain / France - Irizar e-mobility, the Irizar Group's Aduna-based electric vehicle division, is to supply the Strasbourg Eurometropole, operated by CTS (Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois), with 49 zero-emission 12m ie new generation buses. The first of these will be delivered by the end of this year.

The buses have been specified with three doors, 23 seats (four of which are for people with reduced mobility), two areas for wheelchairs and are to be charged overnight by trickle charging. They also feature electric ramps for wheelchair boarding, an AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) compliant with the R138 standard and protective screens for the drivers.
