Proterra launches ZX5 – fifth generation battery electric bus

USA – Proterra Inc of Burlingame, California has launched its new battery-electric transit bus, the Proterra ZX5. It features a new streamlined vehicle design and maximises the amount of energy storage onboard increasing power and range. The ZX5 is available as a 35-foot and 40-foot bus and in models featuring 220kWh and 440kWh of energy storage capacity.
The new ZX5 features a more streamlined body design, a lower vehicle height enabling greater route access, as well as new shock absorbers and enhanced ergonomics to provide a smoother ride. It is also equipped with an additional front port for vehicle charging, offering greater flexibility and operability.
