Volvo LIGHTS team aids rule modification to allow private charging infrastructure for heavy trucks in California

USA - Volvo Trucks North America Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina has achieved an important milestone towards wide-scale electrification of medium and heavy-duty trucks via the expansion of public charging options for fleet operators.

In collaboration with its Volvo LIGHTS (Low Impact Green Heavy Transport Solutions) project partners - CALSTART, Trillium, and Greenlots, plus other industry organizations -  Volvo Trucks has helped facilitate modification of California utility regulations to give private entities the ability to sell electricity as a motor fuel at publicly accessible charging stations for medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles.
