Cummins and Navistar developing fuel cell-powered Class 8 regional-haul tractor unit

USA - Cummins Inc of Columbus, Ohio, and Navistar International Corporation of Lisle, Illinois are to work together to develop a Class 8 truck powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The project will be funded by the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) as previously announced in August, as part of the DOE’s “H2@Scale” initiative to develop affordable hydrogen production, storage, distribution and use.
