ElringKlinger forms fuel cell joint venture company with Plastic Omnium

Germany / France – Automotive component suppliers, ElringKlinger AG of Dettlingen and Ile-de-France headquartered, Plastic Omnium (owned by Burelle Participations SA of Paris) are to create a joint venture to produce fuel cells called EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies. It will be owned 60% by ElringKlinger and 40% by Plastic Omnium. It will offer products to a broad range of customers including hydrogen systems integrators.

ElringKlinger is to bring all its assets related to fuel cells stacks, developed over more than 20 years. Assets include more than 150 employees, more than 150 patents, R&D and know-how, its fuel cell components business, and several high power density fuel cell stack platforms already marketed and manufactured at its facility located in Dettlingen/Erms (Baden-Württemberg), where the joint venture will also be headquartered.
