USA - Ford Motor Company of Detroit is investing USD100m in its Kansas City assembly plant and adding approximately 150 full-time jobs to begin producing the all-new electric Transit van, called E-Transit, which is expected to be available from late 2021. The move follows Ford’s recent announcement of an all-electric F-150 due in 2022 with investment of USD700m towards the Rouge plant in Dearborn – safeguarding 225 jobs and creating a further 500.

The investment is part of Ford’s USD11.5bn-plus global investment in electrification through all segments – its Mustang Mach-E starts reaching customers next month.
