VDL partners with ElringKlinger to develop and industrialise fuel cell systems

The Netherlands / Germany – Bus and coach builder, VDL Bus & Coach BV of Valkenswaard, The Netherlands and Germany’s ElringKlinger AG of Dettingen, have agreed on a strategic partnership to develop and industrialise fuel cell stacks and systems for mobile and stationary applications.
Within the partnership, ElringKlinger AG is to focus on customer-specific development and production of fuel cell stacks. VDL’s focus is primarily system integration and testing under real conditions. Also involved is Elringklinger Fuelcell Systems Austria GmbH (EKAT) of Wels, Austria (a subsidiary of ElringKlinger), which has expertise within the area of complete fuel cell systems.
