USA / Sweden - Volvo Trucks North America Inc (VTNA) of Greensboro, USA has introduced strategic measures to implement new standards in fuel efficiency and provide best-in-class fuel economy while reducing its products’ greenhouse gas emissions footprint. The move centres on enhanced fuel economy packages for both the Volvo VNL and VNR models tractor units.

Volvo Trucks’ D13TC (Turbo Compound) engine features Dynamic Torque, a system enabling the driver to operate the truck in a more fuel-efficient manner by adjusting to the exact load without impacting performance. The engine offers three individual drive modes, as well as an additional 405 horsepower rating and the next evolution of the Volvo Trucks’ patented wave piston design. These updates enable further-increased fuel efficiency over a wider range of loads, applications, vehicle speeds and engine RPMs.
