Ford agrees contract assembly JV with Nordex for Transit in Uruguay

Uruguay / Brazil - Ford Motor Company do Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo (SP), which ended production of medium and heavy trucks in Brazil last year, has announced plans to assemble its Transit light commercial vehicle range in neighbouring Uruguay, starting next year.

Ford announced plans to form a joint venture with Uruguayan firm, Nordex S.A., - a contract-assembler of light, medium- and heavy-duty trucks of some 50 years - to assemble Ford Transit vehicles in Nordex’s headquarter town of Montevideo.
