Brazil – November 2020 saw ZF do Brasil Ltda located in Sorocaba, São Paulo State, the South American commercial vehicle control systems division of ZF Friedrichshafen AG of Friedrichshafen, Germany launch a new modular braking system platform for heavy duty semi-trailers in Brazil; this follows ZF’s acquisition and integration of Wabco and its subsidiary companies including Wabco do Brasil Indústria e Comércio de Freios Ltda of Campinas, São Paulo State.

The company’s global smart braking platform is based on the group’s new generation of anti-lock braking system (ABS) for all types of semi-trailers, which was also launched recently in North America. It is called the Trailer Anti-Lock Braking System, which is abbreviated as iABS, and the new global generation of electronic braking system Trailer Electronic Braking System – iEBS.
