Autocar working with Meritor to offer market electric refuse truck from 2022

USA – Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan, USA has been awarded a five-year supply contract with Autocar Trucks LLC* of Hagerstown, Indiana (a subsidiary of investment company, GVW Group LLC of Highland Park, Illinois) an American heavy-duty manufacturer of specialist trucks for refuse collection, construction, road maintenance, aircraft and terminal container applications to supply its refuse vehicles with Blue Horizon 14Xe integrated ePowertrains. Production is scheduled to begin in 2022.

Meritor’s 14Xe all-electric, fully integrated, commercial electric powertrain for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, will be produced in Asheville and Forest City, North Carolina.
