India - LCV bus sales fall by 70% in Q3 of FY 2020-21

India – Sales of light-duty vehicles (7.5t gvw & below) declined by 69.7% to register just 2,803 units in Q3 of FY2020-21, down from 9,254 units in Q3 of FY2019-20. Production decreased also and by 54.7% from 8,398 units to 3,807 units, and exports also shrank by 65.2% from 1,059 units to 369 units.

Demand for minibuses with more than 13 seats (GVW ≤ 5 tons no. of seats inc. driver exceeding 13) witnessed a fall of 72.3% to 909 units in Q3/FY2020-21 from 3,278 units in Q3/FY2019-20. Production fell also by 58.2% to 1,235 from 2,935 in the same quarter the previous year.
