India - Light truck sales down 25% in first three quarters of 2020-21

India – Sales of LCV goods carriers (trucks of gvw ≤ 7.5t) saw domestic sales fall by 24.7% to 270,623 units in the first three quarters (April to December) of fiscal year 2020-21 (Q1-Q3 FY2020/21) from 359,162 units in same period of 2019-20. Production of LCV trucks decreased by 24.6% and export experience a degrowth of 25.1%.

The largest segment, GVW ≤ 2t, saw sales drop by 34.0% to 95,960 units in threequarter period of 2020-21 from 145,362 units in same period of 2019-20. Production decreased by 31.9% and export sales fell by 40.9%.
