Indonesia - The market for medium-duty trucks between 5-16 tons gvw continued to dive lower in the fourth quarter of 2020, by over 36% to 13,105 units after declining by more than 14% to 20,593 units in the same period of the previous year. Over the full year, sales were down by over 49% at 34,881 units from 68,935 units in 2019, reflecting a domestic economic that has struggled with extensive lockdowns and falling household incomes.

Mitsubishi-Fuso continues to dominate this segment, albeit with its Canter and FM sales down by 47% at 19,701 units last year, while second-placed Isuzu also posted a similar decline to 7,503 units. Hino struggled to keep pace, with sales falling by over 56% to 7,247 units after a 28% drop to 16,549 units a year earlier.
