Japan - Isuzu Motors Ltd, headquartered in Tokyo’s Shinagawa district and Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo Company, based in Nishinomiya, Hyogo prefecture, have developed a new rear-body monitoring system for heavy trucks using connected technologies.

A chassis-mounted mobile communication terminal receives data needed to support and control the rear body of a heavy vehicle, including trucks with detachable containers. The system also monitors vehicle performance such as engine and transmission data in real time to proactively prevent failures and to facilitate a quick fix in the event of a failure or breakdown.
