Malaysia - Malaysia’s prime mover segment (on-road tractor units) dropped by 34% to 400 units in the fourth quarter of 2020 from strong year-earlier sales of 606 units, resulting in a 47% drop to 875 units over the full year. The segment last year struggled with declining international trade and falling construction and mining activity in the country.

Volvo Trucks led the market last year with sales falling by almost 38% to 283 units, followed by Sino Truck with an 18% decline to 125 units. Hino reported a slight gain to 114 units, while Scania’s sales plunged by almost 53% to 107 units.
