South Korea - Commercial vehicle import-sales rose by 12% in Q4

South Korea - Sales of imported commercial vehicles, mostly comprising of heavy trucks, rose by close to 12% to 1,391 units in the fourth quarter of 2020 from strong year-earlier sales of 1,245 units, reflecting recovering international trade and a pick-up in investment. Full-year sales were still down by almost 7% at 4,482 units from 4,812 units in 2019.

Volvo Trucks continues to lead this segment, albeit with a fall in full-year sales of more than 15% to 1,834 units. Scania reported a 16% rise to 1,063 units,  putting it in second place. MAN slipped into third place after posting a 16% decline to 773 units, while Mercedes-Benz made a moderate gain of 5.6% to 583 units.
