Thailand - The Thai commercial vehicle market over 2 tons gvw expanded by just over 1% to 137,660 in the fourth quarter of 2020 after declining sharply to 136,172 units in the same period of the previous year, according to data and some estimates from various industry sources compiled by www.AsiaMotorBusiness.com.

The economy declined at a slower rate in the fourth-quarter of last year, by 4.2% year-on-year after contracting by 6.4% in the third quarter and by 12.1% in the second quarter, as domestic economic activity began to improve. Over the full year the economy shrank by 6.1%, the steepest drop since the 1998 Asia financial crisis, as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic impacted heavily domestic consumption, investment, and exports.
