Vietnam - Sales of pickup trucks increased by over 9% to 7,317 units in the fourth quarter of 2020, after plunging by over 25% to 6,702 units in the same period of the previous year, resulting in a 13.5% decline in full-year sales to 19,697 units from 22,767 sales in 2019.

Ford strengthened its dominance of this segment last year with sales of the Ranger model falling only slightly to 13,291 units from strong volumes in the previous year – when deliveries grew by over 53% to 13,319 units. Toyota reported a 7.7% drop in Hilux sales to 2,642 units, albeit from even stronger year-earlier sales, which were up by over 93% to 2,863 units. Sales of the Mitsubishi Triton by Vinastar continued to fall during the year and by almost 16% to 2,247 units.
