Argentina - Truck and bus sales show signs of a strong recovery in the first quarter this year

Argentina - Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (trucks and buses of 10.5t gvw and above) in Argentina rose by 63.1% in the first quarter of 2021 to 3,984 units compared with 2,443 units sold in the same period of 2020, according to the Association of Dealers of the Argentine Republic (ACARA) based in Buenos Aires.

ACARA stated that in March the market registered sales of 1,470 units an increase of 171.2% compared with the 542 units sold in March 2020. Ricardo Salomé, ACARA’s president, stated the automotive sector had seen growth due to a concerted effort by its members to support the supply chain, fleet owners buying new vehicles and stability of the dollar.
