Falling demand hits output of Brazil’s bus and coach industry

Brazil - According to data released by the National Association of Bus Manufacturers (FABUS) of São Paulo, Brazil’s bus production fell by 32.8% in the first quarter of this year, when 3,069 units were manufactured compared with 4,549 units in the same first quarter of 2020.

The Brazilian domestic market fell by 30.1% to 2,574 units against 3,680 units in the first three months of 2020. Exports fell by 43.3%, with only 493 buses and coaches exported against 869 units in the first quarter of 2020.
