Malaysia’s market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw declined by a further 6% year-on-year to 15,204 units in the second quarter of 2025.

Sales of commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw in Japan increased by just 1% to 81,895 units in the second quarter of 2025, from weak year-earlier sales of 81,114 units.

India’s domestic sales of buses (GVW 7.5 tons and above) registered a modest increase of 6.6% in Q1 FY2025-26, rising to 18,137 units from 17,009 units in the same quarter of FY2024-25.

Sales of light-duty buses and coaches (GVW ≤ 7.5t) grew by 8.8%, reaching 16,949 units in Q1 FY2025-26, compared with 15,571 units in Q1 FY2024-25.

Sales of LCV goods carrier vehicles (light trucks) of GVW ≤ 7.5 tons in India remained steady, declining by just 0.6% to 122,627 units in the first quarter (April to June) of fiscal year of 2025 (Q1 FY2025-26) from 123,414 units in the same period of the previous year.

India’s tractor unit registrations declined 8.6% in the first quarter, registering 14,217 units compared with 15,552 units in Q1 FY2024-25.

Sales of medium and heavy-duty rigid trucks (7.5t GVW and above) in India declined by 3.3% in the first quarter of the new fiscal year of April to June 2025 (Q1 / FY2025-26), falling to 51,529 units from 53,015 units.

Truck production figures in Brazil rose by 3.1% and bus and coach chassis production rose by 7.3%.

Tractor sales grew by 4.8% during the fourth quarter of FY 2024/25 (January to March) to register 21,021 units compared with 20,061 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY 2023/24).

Sales of buses (7.5t gvw and above) were up by 10.5% in Q4 of the financial year 2024/25 (January to March) to register 22,049 units, up from 19,946 units in Q4 of FY 2023/24.

Sales of light-duty buses and coaches (7.5t & below) rose strongly in Q4 of FY2025/24 (January to March 2025) by 19.4% to register 18,310 units compared with 15,333 units in Q4 of FY2023/24.

Production of LCV trucks fell by 0.8%, while exports grew strongly by 60.2% to more than 14,000 vehicles.
