Brazil - The Brazilian bus and chassis market fell by 9.0% in the first quarter of 2021 to register 3,331 bus chassis (3,661), a trend that has been occurring since the second quarter of 2020.

However, there were three chassis builders that showed growth, Agrale (+27.4%), Iveco (+356%) and Volkswagen (+58.3%). This positive performance by the three OEMs reflected the supply of school vehicles under the government’s subsidized and regularly contracted Caminho da Escola Program (school bus programme). The other brands that operate in the urban and coach chassis segments had sales declines of between 10 and 88%!
